Milan, May 29 (LaPresse) – After more than four and a half hours of play, Novak Djokovic also exits Roland Garros. The Serbian, the only player remaining in the draw to have won at least one Grand Slam title, lost 4-6, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, 7-5 to Brazilian Joao Fonseca, who reaches the round of 16 at a Grand Slam for the first time in his career. Djokovic, a three-time Roland Garros champion, will try again to win his 25th Grand Slam title at Wimbledon. The Serbian appeared exhausted in the fifth set, with temperatures in Paris once again reaching 33°C, and it was the 19-year-old Brazilian’s freshness that ultimately prevailed.
