Roland Garros, Cobolli: ‘There’s a glimmer of hope for everyone; dreaming isn’t wrong’

Turin, 30 May (LaPresse) – "You can feel this different atmosphere; when you walk through the changing room, you sense something. There’s a glimmer of hope for everyone, and everyone wants to make the most of it. It’s never wrong to dream, and lots of people are dreaming here, and that’s how it should be. The one who dreams the most wins.” So said Flavio Cobolli after reaching the last 16 at Roland Garros, commenting on the fact that, with Djokovic and Sinner out of the running, there will be a new Grand Slam champion. “I want to take it one match at a time; that’s how I want to approach this week. I know there will be a new Grand Slam champion, but I don’t want to think about that: I’ve got another tough match now; my next opponent beat Cerúndolo, so it’s bound to be a tough match and I need to be ready to fight again. Obviously we look at the draw and we have plenty of time to watch the other matches; it’s not easy to stay focused solely on the next match, but I’m trying,” he added. “For now, the only thing I know is that I’ve won three matches and I have to play the fourth: I just want to think about that.” Speaking of today’s victory, “I’m really very happy with the performance; it’s my first win on Centre Court at a Grand Slam, so it’s a very significant result. Now it’s time to recover a bit and start thinking about the next match, which is really important.”
