Rome, 13 June (LaPresse) – George Russell has secured pole position for the Barcelona Grand Prix, the seventh round of the World Championship. At the Montmeló circuit, the British Mercedes driver clocked a time of 1:20.918 to finish ahead of Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari; world championship leader Kimi Antonelli set the third-fastest time, marking the first time this season that his Mercedes has failed to secure a front-row start. Norris was fourth ahead of Verstappen and Hadjar. For Russell, this is his third pole of the season and Mercedes’ seventh in a row. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who crashed into the barriers on his first flying lap attempt in Q3, will start tenth on the grid.
