Milan, 15 June (LaPresse/AP) – Two more big names are set to make their World Cup debuts. Spain will have a full squad to choose from against Cape Verde, although manager Luis de la Fuente may leave several key players out of the starting line-up for what is expected to be a one-sided opening match in Atlanta. Víctor Muñoz, Nico Williams and the young sensation Lamine Yamal have returned to training this week after dealing with various injuries with their respective clubs. Star-studded Spain are among the favourites to win their second World Cup, following their 2010 triumph. Yamal will have the opportunity to show the world why he is considered the next heir to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as a global football star. The 18-year-old Barcelona star suffered a left hamstring injury on 22 April but sat out the rest of the season in the hope of being fit for the World Cup. He was declared fit by Spain’s head coach on the eve of the opening match. The Group G match between Belgium and Egypt in Seattle will see two stars take to the pitch hoping to make their mark in the twilight of their careers. Belgium’s Kevin De Bruyne and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah have been key players for their respective national teams, but both are coming off difficult seasons.
