Florence, 22 April (LaPresse) – “I’d ask for a bit of respect regarding the Housing Plan; we haven’t approved it yet.” This was how Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure Matteo Salvini responded, on the sidelines of an event in Florence, to criticism of the project levelled by the mayor of the Tuscan capital, Sara Funaro. ‘I respect mayors of all political persuasions,’ Salvini continued. ‘I would ask for respect because we are trying to do what the Florence mayor’s party has failed to do for decades. We haven’t approved the Housing Plan decree yet; we’ll get there next week. I don’t understand how the mayor can claim to know something she doesn’t know and is unaware of.’
