Milan, Dec. 31 (LaPresse) – Palestinian health authorities have reported that 45 sick and injured individuals have been evacuated for treatment outside the war-devastated Gaza Strip. They departed from the European Hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis this morning and traveled through the Kerem Shalom crossing into Israel. They will receive medical care in the United Arab Emirates. According to the hospital, the patients are accompanied by over 100 relatives. Among them is a 10-year-old boy, Abdullah Abu Yousef, who suffers from kidney failure. The boy was accompanied by his sister after Israeli authorities denied his mother’s request to join him, citing security concerns. "The child is ill," said the mother, Abeer Abu Yousef, "he needs hemodialysis three or four times a week."
