Milan, Jan 15 (LaPresse) – Donald Trump's inauguration to the White House, scheduled for 20 January, is a ‘potential target’ of threats. This is the warning contained in a security assessment drawn up by the US security agencies ahead of the inauguration, which has not been released but which the newspaper Politico has come into possession of. According to the document, the event will be ‘a potentially attractive target’ for violent extremists. The security agencies point out, however, that there are no specific credible threats. The swearing-in of the president-elect could be seen as ‘the last opportunity to influence the election results with violence’, Politico reports, pointing out that authorities are stepping up security efforts for 20 January and have been on high alert for months, following Trump's two assassination attempts and recent attacks in New Orleans and Las Vegas this year.
