Washington (USA), January 19 (LaPresse) – TikTok is working to bring the platform back online by Sunday after President-elect Donald Trump promised to halt the ban on the app in the U.S. once he takes office. "In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service," the company said in a statement. "We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will not face sanctions for offering TikTok to over 170 million Americans and enabling more than 7 million small businesses to thrive," the statement reads. Trump confirmed today that he will sign an executive order after taking the oath of office to delay the federal ban on TikTok and give the company more time to separate from Chinese ownership. TikTok USA CEO Shou Zi Chew will attend Trump's inauguration ceremony tomorrow.
