Turin, Jan. 27 (LaPresse) – "It is extremely unlikely that the Covid-19 pandemic was caused by a lab leak," said Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to the U.S. CIA report declassified and published on the orders of Trump.
"This is the authoritative conclusion reached by experts from the WHO-China joint mission after their field visits to the Wuhan lab and extensive communication with researchers," the spokesperson explained during a press conference covered by Chinese media. "This conclusion has been widely recognized by the international community, including the scientific community."
"The United States must immediately stop politicizing and weaponizing origin tracing and stop blaming others," Mao continued. "The U.S. should promptly address the legitimate concerns of the international community, voluntarily share with the WHO its data on suspected cases identified within its territory during the early stages of the pandemic, clarify questions regarding relevant U.S. biological laboratories, and provide the world with a responsible explanation," Mao concluded.
