Madrid (Spain), Jan. 27 (LaPresse) – An Italian citizen from the province of Ferrara died on Sunday in Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, following a paragliding accident.
The Canary Islands’ rescue services reported that the accident occurred around 2:48 PM near Benijo Beach in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a popular spot for paragliding enthusiasts. Rescuers located the man, and medical personnel confirmed his death, citing injuries incompatible with life.
The Italian was in Tenerife on vacation with a group of friends and some family members. According to sources from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the vice consulate in Arona, in close contact with the Foreign Ministry, is providing full support to the victim’s family, including assistance with the procedures for repatriating the body to Italy.
