Washington (USA), Jan 29 (LaPresse) – Donald Trump has hired the Sullivan & Cromwell law firm for the appeal in the trial that saw him convicted in New York in the first instance for paying porn actress Stormy Daniels under the table. Politico reports this, citing informed sources. The most prominent member of Trump's new legal team is Robert Giuffra, co-chair of the firm. During the presidential transition, Giuffra was in the running for Justice Secretary. Giuffra and the other lawyers in his firm will replace Todd Blanche and Emil Bove, who represented Trump during the trial last spring. Blanche is Trump's nominee to become Deputy Attorney General and is already working within the department. Bove will hold the role of number three in the department. Last spring, Trump was convicted on 34 counts of concealing a $130,000 payment to Daniels. The sentence ordered by the judge before Trump took office carries no punishment.
