EU, Kallas: ‘Do more than 2 per cent in defence, tough decisions needed’

Brussels, 3 Feb (LaPresse) – Meeting the 2 per cent GDP target for defence ‘is a big problem. This 2% target was declared in 2014, countries had 10 years to reach it. But it is clear that we have to do more, because we have a large-scale war going on in Europe and Russia has not changed its targets. We have to do more, but of course this also requires some difficult decisions by several member states'. So says EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Kaja Kallas on her arrival at the informal meeting of European leaders on defence.
