Washington (USA), 3 Feb (LaPresse/AP) – Employees of the US Agency for International Development were ordered today not to go to the agency's headquarters in Washington after Elon Musk announced that US President Donald Trump had agreed with him to shut down the agency. About 600 employees reported being locked out of the agency's computer systems overnight. Those still in the system received an email saying that ‘at the direction of Agency management’ the headquarters building ‘will be closed to Agency personnel on Monday, 3 February’. Musk said the agency was on the verge of being shut down. The Trump administration has put on leave two security chiefs who had refused to hand over classified material to Musk's government inspection teams, a current and a former US official told the Associated Press on Sunday.
