Brussels, February 13 (LaPresse) – "Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine, and we know that any just and lasting peace must include Ukraine at the table, because Ukraine’s security is Europe’s security. Both Ukraine, of course, and Europe must be at that table, based on respect for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity."
This was stated by Paula Pinho, the European Commission’s chief spokesperson, during the daily press briefing.
"No one desires peace more than Ukraine and its people. Ukraine has endured unimaginable suffering for almost three years and has accomplished the impossible," added spokesperson Anitta Hipper.
"It is always important to remember that Russia is the aggressor and cannot be rewarded for its aggression. And when it comes to any discussions, all agreements must be sustainable. A bad deal will only lead to more war, just as it has before. Furthermore, as the High Representative has stated, Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity are unconditional. Therefore, our priority now must be to strengthen Ukraine."
