Tel Aviv (Israel), Feb. 26 (LaPresse/AP) – Speaking at the funeral of his wife Shiri and children Ariel and Kfir, Yarden Bibas praised his family. "Do you remember our last conversation? In the safe room, I asked you if we should fight or surrender. You said to fight, and I fought," the man said sadly, speaking directly to his wife. "Shiri, I'm sorry I couldn’t protect you all. If only I had known what would happen, I wouldn’t have fought." He then spoke about his older son, Ariel: "I hope you know that I thought about you every day, every minute." "I'm sure you're making all the angels laugh with your silly jokes and imitations," he added. "I hope there are lots of butterflies to watch, just like we did during our picnics." " Kfir, I'm sorry I didn't protect you better," he continued, addressing his youngest son. "I miss hearing your laughter." Shiri Bibas, 34 years old, and her children Kfir, 9 months, and Ariel, 4 years old, were kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, 2023, and killed during captivity, according to autopsy findings by Israeli authorities.
