Brussels, 27 Feb. (LaPresse) – ‘As for Ukraine, there is a new momentum, which should lead to a comprehensive, just and lasting peace. It is therefore important for us to discuss how to further support Ukraine and the principles that should be respected in the future. The EU and its Member States are ready to assume greater responsibility for Europe's security. We should therefore be prepared for a possible European contribution to the security guarantees that will be necessary to ensure lasting peace in Ukraine’. This was written by the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, in his letter to the EU Heads of State and Government inviting them to the special European Council of 6 March in Brussels.
