Frankfurt (Germany), 3 Mar. (LaPresse) – ‘Once again, we mourn with Mannheim. Once again, we mourn with the families of the victims of a senseless act of violence and fear for the injured. We cannot accept this. I would like to sincerely thank all the emergency services. I hope the eyewitnesses find the strength to overcome what they have experienced.’ This was written in a message on X by the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, after a man drove his car into a crowd in Mannheim, causing at least two deaths and several injuries. On 31 May, Mannheim had already been the scene of a knife attack that left one person dead and five seriously injured.
