Beijing (China), March 4 (LaPresse) – China has announced it will impose additional tariffs of up to 15% on imports of key U.S. agricultural products, including chicken, pork, soybeans, and beef. The tariffs, announced by the Ministry of Commerce, are set to take effect from March 10. This move is in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s order to increase tariffs on Chinese imports to 20% in general. These tariffs went into effect on Tuesday. Imports of chicken, wheat, corn, and cotton grown in the U.S. will be subject to an additional 15% tariff, the Ministry said. The tariff on sorghum, soybeans, pork, beef, seafood, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products will be raised by 10%.
