Turin, 5 Mar. (LaPresse) – In his address to the nation, French President Emmanuel Macron spoke of the “international situation and its consequences for our country and for Europe”, referring to “historical events in progress that are upsetting the world order”. ‘The United States, our ally, has changed its position on this war, is giving less support to Ukraine and is leaving doubts as to what will happen next’, he explained. “Our security and our prosperity have become more uncertain and it must be said: we are entering a new era”, continued Macron, according to whom, in addition to Ukraine, “our security is also threatened”. ‘If a country can invade its European neighbour with impunity, then no one can be sure of anything,’ explained the French president. “The Russian threat affects European countries,” he said. According to Macron, remaining “spectators” in “a world in danger” would be “madness”.
