Rome, Mar 25 (LaPresse) – Russia is in favour of renewing the Black Sea initiative, but in a form more acceptable to all parties. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with Channel One. ‘We are in favour of resuming the Black Sea initiative in a form that is more acceptable to all,’ he said further, stressing that this issue was discussed as a priority during the negotiations in Riyadh. Tass reported that. ‘Our position is simple: we cannot trust this man's word,’ Lavrov stressed, referring to Ukrainian President Zelensky. Lavrov stressed that Russia wants ‘the grain and fertiliser markets to be predictable’ so that no one tries to exclude the Russian Federation from these markets. Moscow, Lavrov noted, is concerned about the food situation in Africa and other countries in the global South that have suffered because of the ‘games of the West’.
