Frankfurt (Germany), 28 Mar. (LaPresse) – ’We must draw up a common framework of how we imagine the Federal Republic of Germany in the next 10 years, of what this country should look like. And I am convinced that with the German Social Democratic Party we will be able to achieve this objective’. This was stated by the CDU leader, Friedrich Merz, at a press conference during the second phase of the coalition talks between the CDU-CSU and SPD. ‘I can say that the discussions of the last few days and weeks have been characterised by an ever-increasing level of personal trust and therefore I face the coming days with great confidence. But there are still some obstacles to overcome and we must try to overcome them together. And then, hopefully, we will soon have a government in Germany again with a stable parliamentary majority,’ Merz said.
