Milan, 6 Apr. (LaPresse/AP) – A wave of bad weather that has hit large areas of the South and Midwest of the United States has caused 16 deaths, with tornado warnings and flash floods overnight. According to meteorologists, the storm system of rain and tornadoes could cause water levels to rise in the coming days. Many of the affected areas were already heavily flooded on Sunday morning after days of heavy storms that generated deadly tornadoes. New tornado warnings were issued overnight in Alabama and Mississippi, along with flash flood warnings for several counties in Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee. The storms come as the offices of the National Weather Service are understaffed due to cuts by the Trump administration.
