Dubai (United Arab Emirates), April 8 (LaPresse/AP) – “Our main objective in the talks is, of course, to restore the people's rights and lift the sanctions, and if the other side has real will, this is achievable and has nothing to do with the method—whether direct or indirect.” This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, speaking to Iranian state television from Algeria about the indirect talks with the United States that will take place on Saturday in Oman. “For now, we prefer the format of indirect talks. We have no intention of changing them to direct,” Araghchi added. “Iran has chosen indirect talks to avoid American pressure and threats, and to prevent Washington from imposing its will on Tehran,” he said further. “Indirect talks can ensure real and fruitful discussions, and Tehran will adhere to this framework,” according to Iran's IRNA news agency.
