Si l'autre partie a une véritable volonté, cela est réalisable et n’a rien à voir avec la méthode, qu’elle soit directe ou indirecte. » C’est ce qu’a déclaré le ministre iranien des Affaires étrangères, Abbas Araghchi, à la télévision d’État iranienne depuis l’Algérie, à propos des pourparlers indirects avec les États-Unis qui se tiendront samedi à Oman. « Pour le moment, nous préférons la formule des pourparlers indirects. Nous n’avons pas l’intention de les transformer en discussions directes », a-t-il ajouté. « L’Iran a choisi les négociations indirectes pour éviter les pressions et menaces américaines et pour empêcher Washington d’imposer sa volonté à Téhéran », a encore précisé Araghchi. « Les discussions indirectes peuvent garantir des échanges réels et fructueux, et Téhéran respectera ce cadre », rapporte l’agence IRNA.

We have no intention of changing them to direct,” Araghchi added. “Iran has chosen indirect talks to avoid American pressure and threats, and to prevent Washington from imposing its will on Tehran,” he said further. “Indirect talks can ensure real and fruitful discussions, and Tehran will adhere to this framework,” according to Iran's IRNA news agency.
