Milan, 8 Apr. (LaPresse) – ‘We strongly condemn Russia's involvement of Chinese citizens in its war of aggression against Ukraine, as well as their participation in the fighting against Ukrainian forces. We have summoned the Chinese chargé d'affaires in Ukraine to the Foreign Ministry to condemn this and ask for an explanation’. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha posted this on social media after President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that two Chinese soldiers had been captured fighting alongside the Russian army. ‘The fact that Chinese citizens are fighting as part of the Russian invading army in Ukraine calls into question China's stated pro-peace stance and undermines Beijing's credibility as a responsible permanent member of the UN Security Council,’ Sybiha added.
