Washington (USA), Apr 10 (LaPresse/AP) – US President Donald Trump has said that Israel would be the ‘leader’ in a potential military strike against Iran if Tehran does not give up its nuclear weapons programme. Trump made these comments ahead of talks scheduled for this weekend between US and Iranian officials in the Middle East sultanate of Oman. Earlier this week Trump said the talks would be ‘direct’, while Iran described the engagement as ‘indirect’ talks with the US. ‘If there is a need for military intervention, there will be,’ Trump added. ‘Obviously Israel will be very involved. It will be the leader. But nobody commands us, we do what we want to do.’ ‘I want Iran to be great,’ Trump added, ’the only thing they can't have is a nuclear weapon. They understand that.’
