Washington (USA), April 12 (LaPresse) – Lawyers for Luigi Mangione, the man accused of killing the CEO of United Healthcare, have asked a federal judge to block the Justice Department's attempt to seek the death penalty for Mangione, calling the decision a "political stunt." Recently, it was U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi who announced the decision to seek the death penalty for Mangione, in line with President Trump's promise to resume federal executions. According to Mangione's lawyers, the Justice Department's request would violate certain protocols and the procedural rights of their client.
