Milan, April 15 (LaPresse) – During the night, gunshots were fired and fires were set in several French prisons. This was reported by the TV station Bfmtv, citing the Ministry of Justice. In Luynes (Centre-Val de Loire region), vehicles were burned in the prison parking lot, as happened in Valence, where an individual on a scooter set fire to cars in front of the prison. In Toulon, automatic gunfire targeted the prison gate, while in Marseille, several vehicles were set on fire in a street in the 13th arrondissement. According to various prison union reports, burnt vehicles have been found in front of institutions for several days. A source close to the case stated that these attacks are coordinated. They are said to be planned in response to the creation of maximum-security prisons and, more specifically, in reaction to the Ministry of Justice's strategy against drug trafficking. Minister Gérald Darmanin is expected at the Toulon prison this afternoon to address these events and offer his support to the prison guards.
