(LaPresse) – ‘Days ago we said that President von der Leyen had been in contact with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in preparation for tomorrow's visit to Washington, and that they would be in contact before the visit. They had another call last night. We will not reveal any specific details, but the messages are in line with what has been said in previous days. So they coordinated this visit.’ This was reported by the European Commission's deputy chief spokeswoman, Arianna Podestà, in the daily press briefing. “Any contact with the US administration is welcome. Of course, the negotiating power lies with the Commission, but the contact and the contacts are extremely positive,” she added.
