Milan, 21 April (LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump has ordered that national flags be flown at half-mast ‘in honour of the memory’ of Pope Francis, who died this morning. The order applies to ‘all public buildings and grounds, all military outposts and naval stations, all federal government military vessels in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its territories and possessions until sunset on the day of burial.’ Trump also wanted to include ‘embassies, legations, consular offices and other US facilities abroad, including all military facilities, ships and naval stations’. The American flag at the White House is also at half-mast, according to CNN.
