Kiev, April 25 (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said it was important for the country to be present at the Pope's funeral and that, if he could not be there in person, Ukraine would be represented by the Foreign Minister and the First Lady. Ukrinform reported, quoting Zelensky during a briefing. "I have several military meetings scheduled," he explained. "It is important for us that Ukraine is present at the ceremony. And not only because of good relations with the Vatican and its role in the return of Ukrainian children and assistance in the exchange of prisoners, but also because of good personal relations with Pope Francis. For me personally, this is also an opportunity to express my condolences and gratitude to both the Vatican and Italy," he added.
