Muscat (Oman), April 26 (LaPresse/AP) – The third round of talks between Iran and the U.S. on Iran's nuclear program concluded today in Muscat, the capital of Oman, which is acting as mediator.
This was reported by a person close to Steve Witkoff, the U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East, and confirmed by Iranian state television.
The discussions lasted several hours. Oman's Foreign Minister, Badr al-Busaidi — who also mediated the previous rounds in Muscat and Rome — expressed a positive note at the end of today’s negotiations: Iran and the United States "have identified a shared aspiration to reach an agreement based on mutual respect and lasting commitments," he wrote on X.
"The fundamental principles, objectives, and technical issues were addressed. Talks will continue next week with another high-level meeting tentatively scheduled for May 3," he added.
