Valencia (Spain), April 29 (LaPresse) – "Now global markets are shaken by the unpredictable tariff policy of the US administration. US tariffs on the rest of the world are at the highest levels in the last 100 years. Last week, the IMF issued a stern warning. It's no surprise: tariffs are like taxes. They harm both consumers and businesses." This was stated by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, at the European People's Party Congress in Valencia. Tariffs "hit Wall Street and small businesses. Millions of citizens will have to pay higher bills. Medicines will cost more, transportation will cost more. Inflation will rise. And this will especially harm the most vulnerable citizens. Businesses, both large and small, are affected from day one. Greater uncertainty, disruption of supply chains, heavy bureaucracy. We cannot and must not allow this to happen," she emphasized.
