Iran Nuclear Talks: Meeting with U.S. in Rome on Saturday Postponed

Milan, May 1 (LaPresse) – “For logistical reasons, we are rescheduling the meeting between the United States and Iran that was provisionally set for Saturday, May 3. New dates will be announced as soon as mutually agreed,” announced Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi in a post on X. Oman is acting as a mediator in the U.S.-Iran talks on Iran’s nuclear program. Shortly before the official statement, journalist Barak Ravid of Axios, citing three sources, reported that “the fourth round of talks between the United States and Iran, which Oman had said would take place Saturday in Rome, will likely be postponed until next week.” Ravid added, “Consequently, the E3 meeting with Iran scheduled for Friday in Rome may also be postponed.” The reference is to the meeting between Iran and France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, which Tehran announced yesterday for Friday in Rome. So far, three rounds of U.S.-Iran nuclear talks have been held: the first in Oman on Saturday, April 12; the second in Rome on Saturday, April 19; and the third again in Muscat, Oman’s capital, on Saturday, April 26.
