Australia, Dutton admits defeat: I'm sorry, but we will rebuild

Milan, May 3 (LaPresse) – The prime ministerial candidate for the conservative opposition coalition, Peter Dutton, has conceded defeat in Australia's general election. “Now, we didn't do well enough in this campaign. That's clear tonight, and I take full responsibility for that,” he said speaking from Liberal Party headquarters. This “is not our night,” he added, “I'm sorry. We have a fantastic party and we will rebuild.” This was reported by Australian broadcaster ABC. Dutton also conceded defeat in his Queensland seat of Dickson to Labor candidate Ali France. ‘Ali and I have fought in several elections, but tonight she was successful in Dickson and she will do a good job as a local member,’ he said.
