Milan, May 4 (LaPresse) – On Sunday, May 4, during Romania's presidential elections, the official websites of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, and candidate Crin Antonescu went offline. Independent journalist Victor Ilie reported that the incident was a cyberattack by a pro-Russian hacker group, though without direct ties to the Kremlin. Later in the day, authorities confirmed the attack, which was officially claimed by the group NoName057. According to Digi24, the hackers stated on Telegram: "Presidential elections have begun in Romania, where nationalist party leader George Simion, presenting himself as an ally of Vladimir Putin, is considered the favorite. We are not indifferent to the event and send our surprises to Romania." All three websites were subsequently restored.
