Rome, May 7 (LaPresse) – "The images of the clashes between India and Pakistan are extremely painful. A regional crisis is underway, rooted in old tensions and recurring flare-ups. We all hope that the conflicts can soon be resolved through diplomacy, without further incidents or casualties," according to sources from the Interior Ministry. Today, Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi concluded an official visit to Pakistan, a country that has come under attack from India.
"For the Italian government, the visit was indispensable," the sources continued. "It was very important to be there, to reaffirm our commitments and to sign the agreements prepared through months of preparatory work. Both countries will benefit in terms of security and the fight against human trafficking. There was never any risk for the Italian delegation. The Pakistani authorities were extremely hospitable, attentive, and cooperative throughout the entire visit. With the Pakistani government, we hope to progressively strengthen our cooperation in our mutual interest."
