Milan, May 7 (LaPresse) – The return of Taiwan to China, ‘the 80th anniversary of which falls this year, is a victorious outcome of World War II and an integral part of the post-war international order’ and, ‘regardless of how the situation on the island of Taiwan evolves or the problems that external forces might cause, the historical trend towards the final and inevitable reunification of China is unstoppable’. This was stated by the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, in an article published in the Russian media ahead of his visit to Russia, an article of which the Chinese Foreign Ministry provided an English translation.
