Milan, May 8 (LaPresse) – Ukraine has held a series of online meetings with the United States, EU partners, and Nordic and Baltic countries regarding a proposed unconditional 30-day ceasefire, a U.S. initiative supported by Kyiv during the March meeting in Jeddah. This was reported on Telegram by Andriy Yermak, head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who noted that the talks involved U.S. presidential envoys Stephen Witkoff and Keith Kellogg, French President Emmanuel Macron’s diplomatic advisor Emmanuel Bonn, British Prime Minister’s advisor Jonathan Powell, and German Chancellor’s advisor Gunther Sauter. On the Ukrainian side, participants included Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, along with Igor Zhovkva, Dariya Zarivna, and Oleksandr Bevz. “We emphasized that a full and unconditional ceasefire should be the first step toward a just and lasting peace. The Kremlin’s proposal of a three-day truce has nothing to do with peace—it’s about safely holding a parade in Moscow. It’s a political manipulation,” wrote Yermak, adding that “tools of pressure were discussed in case Russia rejects the initiative or violates any agreements.”
