New York (New York, USA), May 8 (LaPresse/AP) – A group of pro-Palestinian protesters, wearing masks and keffiyehs, clashed with security at Columbia University in New York after staging a demonstration inside the university library. According to images and videos shared on social media, the group hung Palestinian flags and other banners on the shelves of a reading room. University officials stated in a note that the protest is currently contained to a single room in the library. Protesters were asked to show ID and were ordered to disperse, but none immediately complied.
