Frankfurt (Germany), 9 May (LaPresse) – Holocaust survivor Margot Friedländer has died at the age of 103. The announcement was made by the foundation she established, as reported by Der Spiegel. Friedländer was born in Berlin in 1921. Her father died in an extermination camp in 1942. Her mother and brother were murdered in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Friedländer herself was deported to Theresienstadt in 1944; she was the only member of her family to survive the Holocaust. Friedländer lived in exile in New York for 60 years before returning to Berlin at the age of 88, regaining her German citizenship.
