Frankfurt (Germany), 9 May (LaPresse) – "Currently, there are countries all over the world that want to cooperate, trade and collaborate with us. From Mexico to Mercosur, from Switzerland to South Africa, from India to Indonesia, to name but a few. Today, we have 76 trade agreements and the number is growing. We would be delighted to count the United States among them, which is why we have put forward a zero-for-zero offer, zero tariffs on both sides of the Atlantic. We are ready to eliminate tariffs on industrial products. And as you know, we are working intensively to find a negotiated solution to the tariff issue, a solution that is balanced, fair, mutually beneficial and strengthens both sides of the Atlantic. But if and where negotiations fail, we will act anyway, which is why we are currently considering a possible rebalancing list. In other words, all instruments and options remain on the table." This was stated by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at a press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Brussels.
