"China is closely following the ongoing situation between India and Pakistan and is deeply concerned about the escalation," stated a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to the continuing escalation between the two countries. "We strongly urge both sides to act in the general interest of peace and stability, to maintain calm and moderation, to return to the path of political resolution through peaceful means, and to refrain from any actions that could further escalate tensions," the spokesperson added.
