Geneva (Switzerland), May 10 (LaPresse) – The U.S. Treasury Secretary and the chief U.S. trade negotiator today initiated talks with senior Chinese officials in Switzerland, aiming to ease tensions in a dispute that threatens to disrupt trade between the world’s two largest economies and harm the global economy. Xinhua News Agency reports that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson began discussions in Geneva with a Chinese delegation led by Vice Premier He Lifeng. Diplomats from both sides also confirmed the start of the talks, but spoke anonymously, and the exact location of the meetings has not been made public.
