’ Brussels, 12 May (LaPresse) – "Nord Stream 2 is not currently operational. That said, you never know how things might evolve. And so sanctioning anyone involved in a Nord Stream consortium is exactly the signal that it is not worth considering investing in Nord Stream 2. That is the idea behind von der Leyen's suggestion to sanction the Nord Stream 2 consortium. This was stated by the European Commission's chief spokesperson, Paula Pinho, in her daily press briefing. ‘We are trying to have proposals that are as coordinated as possible, both at the national level with Member States and externally. In this case, I am not aware of the details of whether it has been shared with the US, because we did not have a specific proposal,’ she added.
