Milan, May 13 (LaPresse) – French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the sanctions decided by Western allies against Russia could be applied “starting in the coming days” if Moscow does not agree to a truce in Ukraine. He made this statement during an interview with broadcaster TF1.
“What is at stake in Ukraine is our security. We want a ceasefire on land, at sea, and in the air for 30 days,” he said. “We want to impose sanctions against Russia in the coming days, in coordination with the United States.”
“I can’t tell you whether Vladimir Putin will travel to Turkey,” Macron added. “We are waiting for Russia’s response.”
