Rome, 17 May (LaPresse) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited all leaders of the Arab League countries to the first Russian-Arab summit. The event is scheduled for 15 October. The news was reported by Tass. "We intend to continue developing constructive dialogue with the Arab League in every way possible, as well as friendly relations with all its members. In this regard, I would like to invite all the leaders of your association's member states, as well as the secretary general of the League, to take part in the first Russian-Arab summit, which we plan to hold on 15 October," Putin said in a telegram sent on the occasion of the opening of the 34th Arab League summit, published on the Kremlin website. Putin is ‘confident’ that the Russian-Arab meeting in October will contribute to further strengthening cooperation between the countries and to ‘ensuring peace, security and stability in the Middle East and North Africa regions.’
