Rome, May 19 (LaPresse) – Five trucks carrying humanitarian aid, including baby food, entered the Gaza Strip today through the Kerem Shalom crossing. This was announced by the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) of the Israeli Ministry of Defense. This is the first delivery of this type since March 2, the Times of Israel reports. The delivery of the aid – it is explained – is taking place "upon the recommendation of professional IDF officials and in accordance with the directives of the political level". "All the aid was transferred after a thorough security inspection by personnel of the Ministry of Defense's Crossing Points Authority", it is also stated.
