Milan, 19 May (LaPresse) – Russia will achieve its objectives in Ukraine, but ‘it is preferable to achieve them through political and diplomatic means’. This is what Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. "You are well aware that the president made considerable efforts before 2022 to initiate a diplomatic process aimed at achieving our objectives. Then we received a rather harsh refusal to even discuss the documents prepared by the Russian side,‘ Peskov added, referring to refusals by NATO, the OSCE and others, ’when there are no more possible manoeuvres on the political-diplomatic front, then a special military operation begins." ‘Russia is grateful to the United States for its mediation regarding Ukraine,’ Peskov continued, confirming that a telephone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will take place at 4 p.m. Italian time today.
