Rome, 20 May (LaPresse) – There is no deadline for the preparation of a memorandum between Russia and Ukraine: the parties will exchange drafts and draw up a unified text. This was stated to journalists by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, as reported by the Tass news agency. "There is no deadline and there cannot be one. It is clear that everyone wants to do it as quickly as possible, but the devil is in the details, of course,‘ said the Kremlin spokesman. According to him, ’both Russia and Ukraine will draft their own proposals. The parties will exchange these proposals. Then, they will engage in complex contacts to develop a single text," the presidential spokesman stressed. The Russian and US presidents, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, continued Peskov in his statements, discussed the issue of direct contact for negotiations between the Russian leader and Ukrainian President Zelensky. ‘Of course, the issue of direct contact and the continuation of direct contacts between Russia and Ukraine was also discussed,’ he replied when asked if there was talk of contacts at the highest level.
